I think this is very true. I'm not much of an artist myself, I just colour templates on an RP forum, and I find the undo button very handy for when I've drawn a marking I just don't like the look of. But the amount of times I might try to make that one line just right... There was always something freeing about when I was practising traditional art and just had to commit to whatever happened on my paper.

I relate to this one a lot! I’m a writer and I recently discovered that I write a whole lot more when I use a pen and notebook than I do when I type. When I’m typing, auto-correct and the grammar correction tool push me to be constantly reviewing my work as I do it rather than just create. So in one hour I’ll have written maybe a paragraph on my laptop, but will write three pages in a notebook by hand. There’s also a huge level of satisfaction in seeing you accomplish something without fixating on the errors 🥰

That’s so interesting! I always did wondered if this ever applied to creative writing, not just drawing. Glad you shared from a writer’s point of view! ✨

I feel VERY SIMILARLY! I won't abandon digital art cause it has it's uses but I often feel the BOREDOM!

I'm amazed at how you put it into words bc i feel like that's something i've been feeling subconsciously when i started doing more digital.

The 'perfection' that is its clean lines and back buttons makes it feel almost pressuring to make things 'right' or 'better.' I end up falling back to it instead and it almost feels like a handicap. I was never used to using pens but i have a lot of them lying around, maybe i'll try using them more :'))

I'm hearing a lot of artists talking about traditional-over-digital lately.... I can relate to the advantages of both digital and traditional, but I'm wondering if I should try traditional too?
