Love the vibe of your substack and your drawings! It's funny that I find this now because I decided out of the blue to add a small ink sketch to the post I'm going to publish tomorrow (nothing anywhere close to the quality of your ones though!) and substack decided to suggest this post to me :)
Awesome and thank you! Talk about good timing! Hope you don’t mind if I check out your post when it’s out, not just for the sketch, but I do like reading anything related to photography. :)
As instinctual as writing is to me, I’d love to take a creative writing class in the future. School forced me to write a lot more than I do now and I sometimes fear I’m getting worse rather than better. I even considered looking up free grammar practice pages! It’s good to slow down and revisit the basics-it really shows you how much you’ve improved over time and reminds you why you love doing what you do!
Love your approach, it's quite similar to what I'm trying to do! I agree that academic writing can feel a bit restrictive, but any form of writing can be valuable practice. Don't be afraid of it! What we do repetitively can only make us better. :D
Oof, I applaud you for wanting to take on what I think is the trickiest art medium 😆 But with your amazing art style and drawing, I can totally see it working for you! Watercolor is def my fave, so I'm excited for you to try it out 😍
Yeah I am slightly terrified to learn a new skill from scratch. It’s been years since I have painted traditionally! Thank you! I love that you incorporate a watercolor look into your digital painting! I will definitely let you know how it goes!! 🤣🎨
Thank you, as much as I try to replicate watercolor digitally, it'll never match the charm of real traditional watercolor 😌 Can't wait to see you share your new skill (and moar Briar story!)
I relate so much to the “type it out” outfit design person haha. There are times where I talk about my stories and characters and people say “wait, how are you working off *just* head sketches?”
I mean.. I wrote all their outfits down and they are in my head…
I really want to get back into costume design. I used to love designing outfits for my characters, but I've really fallen out of practice while I focused on studying anatomy.
I’m getting influenced to look into e ink because your sketches are so cool 🫶😭
Ah thank you ☺️ It's a fun device to try out, not just for drawing but note-taking as well!

Ps. Your Substack posts are the highlight of my week. I really love that you switched to this platform ❤️
Aw, thank you so much! 🥹 Knowing that really makes me happy. You’ve truly highlighted my day!

Always happy to wait for your newsletter! And i might get influence in e-ink too. I hope there's one sell in my country.
Thank you ☺️ E-ink is a growing market, so hopefully it'll be available in your country one day!
I never learned to paint with watercolor and thats something I want to revisit next year! I LOVE the look of ink and watercolor together!
You are so right it’s really important for artists to go back to the basics! ✨

Have a wonderful thanksgiving, and thank you for inspiring me to one day make my own art blog to share my art journey and art rambles!!
That's great to know! So happy that you're inspired :D
Happy Thanksgiving to you!!
and to you! :D

Yeah I need to get up and sketch them for real…
