I can relate to the story in so many ways. I miss traditional art after I switched to digital painting. But recently I started doing small sketches like doodles and sketching lettering styles. My hand is still shaky when using pencil on traditional medium after long time. I like both the medium and I would love to traditional art again.

When i first start digital painting, i do kinda feel like: lack of this thing we had when drawing on paper. Luckily i am not alone!

I am certainly getting jittery about AI.. anything that remotely smells of it, I'm zooming in and checking captions and comments to find out. I'll mute or unfollow people who post AI generated contents. I know some artists feel insulted when people ask if their art is AI, but it's getting hard to tell. I like the "safety" I feel from videos showing people using pen and paper, though even that could be AI generated, I suppose.

Anyway! I loved reading your stories and your views on things. I never draw or paint digitally but I am happy to hear there is a difference.

As a traditional artist who has only tried digital a handful of times, it's been so interesting to read the 'journey' of someone who has been through digital for a much longer time!

I relate to this on so many levels. Having the artwork (or in my case, piece of writing) in front of me vs seeing a piece on my phone just makes it feel more real that I am an artist. I know that sounds a little silly, but for me I tend to get caught up in this negative mindset that I’m not good enough to call myself an artist. So having that physical piece that I poured my heart into really helps fight back against those negative feelings. It’s not perfect, but it’s something I did by myself simply because I love doing it. ❤️
