As the shortest month of the year comes to an end, I want to remind everyone how grateful I am for your support by reading all my silly rambles.
I started this newsletter blog as a way to escape the black hole of social media and its algorithms. Give me back the days when just posting a photo was enough — not photos AND video reels AND… whatever else they’re pushing now!
But here, I get to share what I WANT to share, without feeling like I have to fight for attention (like the good ol’ blogging days).
Okay, actually, I do need to grab a tiny bit of your attention — I wouldn’t want my posts to bore you, right?
You know that saying, enthusiasm is contagious?
Well, that’s what I want my writing to be like. I want to share things that will maybe inspire or motivate you, just as it did for me.
I know some people write with the goal of teaching something new, making sure readers walk away with useful information. And there’s nothing wrong with that! I love learning too. I even awkwardly attempted it myself, but it’s obvious I’m no info guru or knowledge savvy.
What I really hope readers take away, whether through my drawings or my words, is simply joy.
Kind of like Chicken Soup for the Soul.
Just spreading good vibes.
It’s a bit sappy, I know. But we all need a little mind detox now and then, and I hope some of these posts roundup below will just do that.
But first, would you be so kind to take the poll/questionnaire below? It’ll help me get an idea of what topics you’d love to see in the coming months.
And if there’s something else you’re curious about that’s not on the list, feel free to let me know in the comment.
As my Witches & Wine Vol. 2 comic is wrapping up, I would like to write something related to it. What kind of post would you like?
How I plan my thumbnail and script from scratch
How I design characters & their outfits
How I color my comics and why
A breakdown of one of my past comic pages
*Vote below with corresponding numbers above
Here are some comic topics/concepts I’m excited to write about in the near future. Which one grabs your interest the most?
Why I ditched art school to chase the chaotic life of a comic artist
Three years as Original Webtoon Creator: What I learned (and wish I knew sooner!)
Living the double format life, Page and Scroll, and why traditional format wins
The key to surviving drawing comics, embrace repetition not just inspiration!
Would you like to see me analyze a famous or non-famous figure, not just about art or artists, but maybe movies, books, shows, musicians …etc?
Some vague examples of “analyzing posts” I’ve done would be the Hagoromo Guy, Leonardo Da Vinci, and the movie Boy and the Heron.
Should I write more about personal stuffs?
If you said "Yes" to above, what should I post more about?
From bird-n-butter
Here I discussed about my book project goals for 2025. Be warned, there’s a lot of bird-related content (no surprise there), and yes, I did post it on National Bird Day on purpose.
From E-ink Journey
My fascination (or obsession) with e-ink writing tablets continues! From sharing my e-ink comic process to disguising my device from prying eyes, because I’m an introvert artist like that.
From Sketch Pitches, a new section I opened up this year
Sketches, sketches, but mostly story ideas that got way out of hand while I was sketching. Who knows? Maybe some of these pitches will get their own full tale someday… if the author (me) gets really invested.
'the more you engage the deepest you sink' it's now my new favorite thing!!! Thankssss <3
